The birthday card

He made such an adorable birthday card for me. He drew 6 hearts to show how much he loves me and gave me 8 stars for being an 'awesome' mommy! :D

Isn't this just so awesome?

P.S. I forgot to write what those people and the numbers against them denote. Even I was curious and asked him who were these people. He told me that they are his cousins and the number is their age. He asked his dad for the ages :)

So 8 is Advik Bhaiyya, 5 is he himself, 11 is Prakhar Bhaiyya, 9 is Sowmya Didi, 7 is Pallav Bhaiyya and the last 6 he didin't remember :D

Cute little birdie

Betu drew this bird which I found really really cute.

Drawing Sea Animals

I found this drawing in Betu's school bag yesterday evening. When I said "Betu. Wow. Yeh to bahut achha banaya hai.", he started to tell me in detail as to what all he had drawn very enthusiastically.

On the top, the pink one is a jellyfish, the green one is an octopus and the blue one is a crab.

He then pointed to the yellow colored sword fish in the blue water and said "Woh bahut daynjrus hoti hai." :D

And the brown one below the swordfish is a star fish.

Well done Betu. It looks very pretty.

His summary of the Manali Trip

On the train from Chandigarh to Delhi (Shatabdi Express), our seats were right in the center where we get a table. So the crayons and paper that I had carried came to the rescue and I managed to keep the kids busy for good 1 hour.

There was another kid besides Anirudh and Prithvi and I'm sure his parents must be thanking me in their hearts too :D

The first thing Anirudh asked me when get got paper and crayons was "Main kya banayoon?" I told him if he wants he can draw whatever he saw in Manali. The idea really appealed to him and he got down to it. And this is what he made -

There is the sun, the clouds, the mountains covered with snow(blue bit on top of mountains) and with fir trees growing on them.

He drew a horse (pink one) and a monkey (blue one). he also drew the big boulders he saw near the mountains and in the river Beas (black and brown ones).

I think he did a splendid job of drawing a summary of his Manali trip. What says you all?

It indeed is Thomas the tank Engine. Since many of you thought so too I guess he didn't do that bad a job ehh? :D

The supposedly looking pigtail is the chimney where the smoke comes from. The big semicircular thing is the 'hook' to which the 'trucks' (the train coaches as they are called in the series) will be hooked onto. :D

Artist by nature?

Every time I see Betu drawing or painting I wonder if set is in his nature. You have to see for yourself the concentration with which he does and how engrossed he gets. The brows are slightly knitted, the lips keep pouting in and out and even if I call him numerous times he doesn't listen. See the pout in the picture below.

And when I was clicking him painting a butterfly, he actually got slightly angry and told me "Aap photo kheench kar mujhe pareshan kyun kar rahe ho? Meri painting kharab ho jayegi na fir?" (Why are you troubling me with your picture clicking? My painting will go wrong then.)

And I just had to sheepishly retreat back saying "Sorry!"

And see in this pic how he has hung his drawings on the clothesline using the clothespin.

And this is his version of a Christmas tree that he made couple of months ago. Its a tall green tree decorated with strings of red lights.

His portrait!

Anirudh loves to keep drawing something or the other or just simply writing the alphabet. And when he is in a mood to write the letters from the alphabet, he will not follow the sequence. He will write them out in random order. And sometimes he has filled up the entire A4 sheet of paper with just the alphabet. And then it looks nothing less than the inscriptions of hieroglyphics from the stone ages :)

Here is the drawing which he first called as 'A baby" and then later as "Meri picture" (Self portrait) after he was done :)


Whatever it is, whether a baby or his own portrait I found it cute enough to put it up here!

"This is very no nice!"

A while ago me and Betu were drawing things (yes..again!). He made something which he called a tree. To me it didn't look like a tree at all. So I said. "This is not nice!" Then he made a shaak (Shark) which resembled a shark except for the tail which looked like the tail of a tadpole. So ignoring the tail I said "Very nice!".

Then he handed over the coloring pen to me and asked me to make a tree. When I drew it, he said "No nice!" Then I drew another one he goes "This is nice!" And then I drew another one in another shape and he twists his face and says "This is very no nice!" Hahahaha.....

Later I told him that you say "Its very bad!" if you think its bad. And after I told him, he kept on saying it over and over like a stuck tape record "Very bad!" till I made a "Very nice!" tree again. :D
