Feeling upset

Betu was really upset and sad when his Dadi-Dadu left today after staying here for a week.

He waved them bye with a smile but the moment he sat in the car he started crying really bad. Looking at him so heartbroken made my eyes water too. I sat there with him clinging to me and sobbing for good 5 min and we started back for home.

As we were taking a circle around India Gate we passed by "Children's Park" and I asked him if he wants to go to children's park since the weather was pleasant as it was 8:30 am only. He nodded with tears still streaming down his cheeks.

Luckily we even found a ball in the car and we took it inside to play with. We spent good 1 hour there and he was so happy playing on different swings. Here are some pics that I clicked while we were there.

On his first ever holiday without Mumma-Papa

Betu has gone on a 5 day holiday trip to meet his cousins along with his Dadi-Dadu. Its been 2 days since he has been gone and from what I know after my calls to his Dadi-Dadu and Bua, he is having lot of fun. He is being such a brat and not even coming on to the phone to talk to me when I call up.

It makes me sad and happy at the same time. Sad because it shows he is not missing me and having lots of fun. And happy because he is not missing me and having lots of fun. Yeah..we mums are crazy like that *wink*

Have lots of fun Betu. Mumma is eagerly waiting to see you on Monday night. Love you lots jaanu. Muaaaaahhh...

Fascination with dentures.

I guess at one point or the other each kid gets fascinated with dentures. It amuses them that teeth can be taken out and kept in a box. And they try to pull out their teeth too. Betu was no different. He would look at his grandparents taking out dentures, brushing them holding in their hands and then putting it in a box full of water. The expressions on his face are a mix of bewilderment and being awed. It was about an year ago when he first saw dentures and was amused with it. The fascination still continues.

Today morning when he was all set to go for a morning walk with Dadi-Dadu, he came up to me super excited and said "Aapko pata hai Dau ke daant nikal jaate hain!" And he rushed back to see his Dadu putting on the dentures without even waiting for me to respond. :)

Dadu ka chela!

Anirudh has been very fond of his Dadu as might have been obvious from some of the posts I've written. You scold him and if he cries, he will cry asking for "Daaduuuu..". So his Dadu is his friend, his saviour, his everything.

His Dadu-Dadi are visiting us currently and he is having a blast at home with them! He went for a haircut with his Dadu yesterday. And also managed to make his Dadu buy him gems from the market.

He wants his Dadu to change his clothes. Today morning he wanted his Dadu to brush his teeth.

He has been sleeping next to his Dadu since they came. And yesterday when he wanted to sleep between both of them and Mummy moved him to her side to protect him from the direct exposure to A/C, he walked off from their room and came to ours.

And he is even ready to go to Jaipur back with his Dadu this time! I'm open to the idea since he will have company of his cousins Prakhar and Pallav and he cane come back with them after a week. But somehow Hubby is not sure about it.

So now you get the picture? He breathes Dadu, he sleeps Dadu, its just Dadu everywhere! And but of course Dadu is basking in this shower of love from his Beti! Yes his Dadu calls him "Meri beti!" :D

Edited to add: When I reached home in the evening, I learn't that he had his bath with his Dadu! Now I'm wondering what will it be next! :D

Dadu - Dadi and Betu!

Anirudh adores his grandparents completely. I guess any grandchild will do the way they shower their love on him.

And he used to take full advantage of it and twist them around to his whims and fancies and they would agree to whatever he wanted (mostly unless it was really wrong). If Dadu is watching some news channel and Betu comes in saying "Ab mera TV time hai!", Dadu would promptly change the channel to his cartoon channel. If Betu demanded that they play with him, they would. So whatever was the demand of Betu it would be fulfilled. Betu had such a great time in the 9-10 days that his Dadu-Dadi were here.

When it was time for them to go, a day before I started telling him that Dadu-Dadi will go back to Jaipur tomorrow. But he would have nothing of that and will say he will also go with them. The morning they were to leave, again we tried to tell him that they have to go and he can't go. So out comes such an innocent yet so strong a comment from him "Woh chhote bachhe ko chhod kar kaise jayenge!" (How can they go leaving a small child behind?) :D

We all were so dumbstruck at his wittiness. Finally when we were in the car and we had to drop him at his school first, we told him "Dadu Dadi kaam se jaa rahein hain". And that did the trick and he said "Office ja rahe ho?Kaam karke aa jayoge?" Sadly but Dadu-Dadi had to lie and say yes that they will come back.

In the evening, when he didn't find Dadu-Dadi at home, he said in such a matter of factly manner "Dadu-Dadi kaam se gaye hain Jaipur? Hum bhi jayenge thode din mein?" And I just smiled and said yes.

Having a gala time!

Betu's Dadi-Dadu are here and he's having the most wonderful time he could have ever wanted. With so much pampering going around, we sure are going to have a tough time when they will have to leave. He knows he has got a weapon that has given him powers to use on us-parents and twist us around his fingers even more easily than before. We scold him and a prompt response will come from him "Dadu aapki pitti karenge!" (Granpa will give you a good one).

And sometimes he will even threaten to leave us and leave with Dadu-Dadi to Jaipur :D

Every morning and evenings he goes along with them for the walks. He will take along a bat-ball or a flying disc or a soccer ball and have a good time with them in the park.

When we saw him so having fun with them we thought Alas some us-time for me and DH!" But I guess we said it too soon! When its sleep time, it has to be with Mumma or Papa!
