Its time to update your dictionary

As me and Betu were sitting at Barista at GK2 with Betu gorging on the chocolate excess, he saw a lady ordering the same. He turned to me and said "woh mere jaise wale cake ke peeche kyun padi hai?".

I looked around embarrassingly wondering if anyone had heard him. Thankfully no one had. I told him that he is not supposed to talk like that about anyone in the restaurants and that too so loudly. And especially about the people we do not know.

He came closer to me and whispered "hum jinko nahi jaante unko him 'aliens' bolte hain na?". I tried hard but couldn't control my laughter when he said that. :D

Later I told him that those are called 'strangers' and not aliens. He continued his barrage of questions as to who aliens are and we talked on. And later he surmised "Par hum aliens ko bhi to nahi jaante?" I just nodded and we got back to eating our chocolate excess!

Mr. Bossy!

I forgot to note down a very funny incident that happened last Saturday when I had taken him along to my office.

It had so happened that while I was going around reviewing the work of the colleagues, he would keep following me around. As I was telling one of them "Yeh theek nahi hai. Yeh aise hona chahiye" by pointing to the screen. Without missing a best, Betu quipped "thas not correct" to that same colleague. I just smiled and did not say anything to him that time then coz he gets embarassed very quickly these days. But later we all had such a laugh when I told the hubby about the incident.

And am also glad that my colleague didn't take offense too but just smiled looking at Betu.

He is so funny!

Betu was watching Pink Panther cartoon. In the cartoon they were showing how pink panther was trying to help others but actually ended up worsening things.

So after watching 2-3 such fiasco's Betu: "woh karna kya chahta hai?"

(I had to control my laughter coz he had asked this in such a genuine tone)
Me: woh sabki help karna chahta hai.

Betu: fir woh sab gadbad kyun karta ja raha hai?

Me: Because he is not thinking before doing anything.

Betu: woh think kyun nahi kar raha?

Me: I don't know. Yeh to usi se poochhna padega.

Betu: (with his eyes wide open and questioning) us se? Usse kaise poochenge? Hum TV mein kaise jayenge?

Me: I don't know. Shayad woh budhhu hai isliye.

Betu: (very flustered now) budhhu?? aapko kuchh nahi pata.

And turned back to watch TV :)

Main aapka wait karunga!

Hubby picked up Betu from the daycare today and I called up to speak to him . After hearing the whole day's account from him, he says, "Aap jaldi ghar aana. Main aapka interaaj karunga." He wanted to say "main aapka intezaar karunga" :D

When I corrected him he promptly rephrased his statement to "Main aapka wait karunga!". Smart fellow, aint he? :)

So as you can see he still jumbles up the last letter with the middle one .

His first visit to my office

Today I had to come to work for a few hours. Yeah on a Saturday :( and since his daycare is not open on Saturdays I had to bring him along. He was mighty excited and said "yeh idea to bahut achha hai!" :) and then he added in a solemn voice that I have not shown him my new office till now.

So here he is, along with the laptops and his DVDs thoroughly enjoying his visit. All the people are coming up to meet him and he got so flustered and asked "sab log milne kyun aa rahe hain baar baar?" right in front of one person who had come to say hello to him. :D

He got me a necklace!

A new style for the blog of a style bhai!

So how do you like it?

Since Ben 10 seems to be his current fav, themed it on this character itself!

I've had the old one ever since I started this blog. So a makeover was due since long! Just waiting to show it to him tomorrow and to see his reaction. :)

Beauty conscious

I can already imagine what trouble we are going to face when he is in teens looking at him being so beauty conscious at this age of 4!

Other day we went to Spencer's mart to pick up some general grocery stuff. As we were browsing through some soaps, he picks up a Nivea vitamin creme soap and says "Yeh 'silk skin' wala le lo mere liye". In the begiinning I was not able to get it right and only after I kept putting away the one he was handing me over, that he got angry adn said "Aap mera 'silk skin' wala soap kyun nahi le rahe ho?" that I understood the words 'silk skin'.

Me and hubby both had such a laugh and so did the other customers who were standing nearby.

On another day he combed his hair in a certain style using his hand only and turns to me and asks "Yeh style kaisa lag raha hai?"

Although I find all this very cute right now there are days when his such style/beauty consciousness scares me. Abhi se yeh haal hai to bade ho kar kya hoga?

Charging his phone

His toy phone was kept on the cradle of our cordless phone saying "Iski battery finish go gayee hai. Isko charge karna padega" :)
